Day 3

This morning we took a few hours to walk around Carmel (since there are no street lights it's not a place you can enjoy after dark). The town is very pretty, with a goergous beach and lots of dogs running around and playing. The houses are quite small and some of them look like something out of a fairy tale, say the witche's gingerbread house from Hanzel and Gretel. They are all different from one another but somehow it all fits together in a way that pleases the eye.

The shops are mostly art galleries and expensive (and ugly) clothing, but by far the most interesting shop we saw was a shop called "Diggidy-Dog". It's a dog supply shop for the rich and bored: you can buy dog clothing, dog costumes (If you really wanted to dress your dog up as, say, a sheep at Purim), hats for dogs, goggles (called "doggles") if you wanted to take your dog for a bike ride, doggy bags (literally bags to carry your dog in) etc. You can also buy gourmet dog treats by the pound. A dog lovers heaven (if you can afford it). They also had some cat products, but no self respecting cat owner (Noa: such as I) would allow his cat to be humiliated that way.

After we were done in carmal we drove the rest of the way to San-Francisco, and to our nautical themed boutiqe hotel "The Argonaut". It's very nice and they even supply a leopard print robe for your enjoyment (you're lucky - we have pictures for you).

We walked a little around China town, had some chinese food and went back to the hotel.
More on san-Francisco tomorrow. Good night...
