Today we hiked in the Yosemite Valley. It was a long hike – about 9 miles. We hiked from the Trailhead near Curry Village, along the Mist Trail up to Vernal Fall, and then Nevada Fall, at an elevation of 1,801 meters; then back down through the John Muir Trail.
The place is simply magnificent; lots of trees, lots of water, great air and tons of squirrels. The weather was great too: clear and cool. Unfortunately the camera battery died on us in the middle of the trail, so we didn't get to photograph as much as we'd have liked to.
On our way down we met a pack of mules led by someone who looked like an Indian chief. Probably called Big Mule. Looks like they're using the mules to deliver supplies to areas that aren't accessible by car.
We're back at the lodge now, relaxing on our cabin's veranda, and soon we'll go have some dinner. We earned ourselves a nice steak today!
